What is it that makes a story memorable. Is it Humor? Imagery? Sound? Emotion? This is what Preston Rudie does at his lecture when he talks about what it is that makes a story.
Rudie emphasizes that sometimes you need to 'just let the story breathe' , to just give into the moment. He even emphasizes the importance of natural sound and embracing the 'surprises' that comes with each
The imagery of the video clips that were shown were powerful. The first was about a couple who met in their late teens and found each other again 60 years later. This story captured everyones hearts, but the story that realy captured everyones hearts was one about a widow who lost her husband in the iraq war. This story brought nearly everyone to tears. One person even complained abouit not getting as warning before hand about needing tissues.
Overall the seminar was great and eveyone fell in love with the masterfuly crafted news stories
